
Sophie Finlay is a visual artist and poet. She lives, works and writes on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. Her poetry is published in multiple journals including Meanjin, Australian Poetry Journal, Cordite Poetry Review, Plumwood Mountain journal and the anthology Shaping the Fractured Self, UWAP. She has also been a finalist in several art prizes including the John Leslie Art Prize.
Sophie is a PhD candidate in literary studies and creative writing at Deakin University. Her research and creative work consider the possibilities for an ecopoetic lyric to raise awareness of anthropogenic devastations upon local and global ecologies, embody a corporeal reorientation to the webs of life, and promote connection between human and more-than-human worlds.
